Active learning

form of learning in which teaching strives to involve students in the learning process more directly than in other methods.


ADDIE

ADDIE is an instructional systems design (ISD) framework that many instructional designers and training developers use to develop courses. The name is an acronym for the five phases it defines for building training and performance support tools:

  • Analysis
  • Design
  • Development
  • Implementation
  • Evaluation

Andragogy

methods and principles used in adult education.The word comes from the Greek ἀνδρ- andr-, meaning "man", and ἀγωγός agogos, meaning "leader of"; it literally means "leading man", whereas "pedagogy" literally means "leading children".


Auditory learning

learning style in which a person learns through listening. An auditory learner depends on listening and speaking as a main way of learning. Read more


Authentic learning

instructional approach that allows students to explore, discuss, and meaningfully construct concepts and relationships in contexts that involve real-world problems and projects that are relevant to the learner. Read more

blended learning

an approach to education that combines online educational materials and opportunities for interaction online with traditional place-based classroom methods. It requires the physical presence of both teacher and student, with some elements of student control over time, place, path, or pace.


Blog

discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text entries (posts). Posts are typically displayed in reverse chronological order, so that the most recent post appears first, at the top of the web page.

Citation

reference to a published or unpublished source. Read more


Conference call

telephone call in which someone talks to several people at the same time. It may be designed to allow the called party to participate during the call, or the call may be set up so that the called party merely listens into the call and cannot speak. It is sometimes called ATC (audio tele-conference). Source
